Celebration, Goodbye, a fun day: The end!

The Peace House: we played with about 6 boys of 12 that stay at this home, mom's enroll them to try to keep them out of gangs. They were so polite and such a joy! We had a men's group that did some MAJOR construction in the yard of this property the week before we were here.
Pic 2 & 3: It was such a blessing to see these girls be a kid for the day, and enjoy the water at the FINCA (ranch, wich is actually more like a athletic club).
Gondola: On our last day we took a ride up the gondola (just like in Tahoe) to see from one side of Medellin to another, it was amazing! Then we followed it up with a shopping trip.

Restoring Colombia: Second group

This group met at a different church grounds, up the hill more, near Santa Domingo (a very poor area). The girls were a bit older,12-17, and quite a few were pregnant,or had new babies.

Prego at 15: this girl is 7 months along, but her baby is cleary malnourished. She doesn't care or want the baby. Her mother doesn't know Christ, but he is definatly pursuing her. She used to live on the streets, be an assasin, and currently has 8 kids.
14 with a 2 month old: She had the saddest eyes, the whole time we spent with her we didnt see her smile much. Her childhood is gone.
The group of moms.
Baby fix: here I got to hold a young mom's baby while she was participating in the craft. How I missed my own babie's at home!

Restoring Colombia: an org that helps girls stay out of prostitution

My Favorite little friend: on the left. She is the one I taught to swim on friday at the FINCA. I wanted to take her home with me, our goodbye was full of tears.
Rosia: This mom was on the brink of breaking down the whole time we had time with the moms group. Afterward we prayed together and she broke down sobbing in Vicki's arms. Our heart went out to her as we heard her difficult story.
Paulette praying with mom: this mom had 8 kids, lived on the streets, was out of prostitution, but still leaving her kids to raise themselves each day, even though she didnt have a job. Her daughter has been raped by her dad when the mother was not enough for him.
The group of moms. notice the difference in Rosia after time of sharing, encouragement and prayer.
